Using a song of their choice, students will explore their unique life experience to create a connecting monologue and Sing their Story. Students will devise their own ideas, lighting, and costumes leading to a personalized performance where they are the STAR! SING YOUR STORY will culminate in a showcase on the 710 Main stage open to the community. Ages 10-17.

A week-long dance intensive that explores different forms, techniques, and cultural dances that shape our stories. From West African, Jazz, Tap, Salsa and Hip Hop, dancers will experience high quality teaching, an inclusive environment, and an appreciation for the history and legacy of dance. All experience levels of dance are welcomed. Ages 10-17.

The Musical Theatre Intensive focuses on developing the next generation of storytellers enhancing and nourishing their acting, singing, dancing, and writing skills. Working with local area theatre professionals, students will do a deep dive into story structure, exploring classic and modern themes, leading to the creation of an original full-length musical. Along the way students will develop transferable life skills using creative problem solving, collaboration, critical thinking. The original musical will be performed live on the SHEA’S Buffalo stage. Ages 10-17.

2-week summer acting intensive for High School students.
Gain an edge on your acting expertise with our two weeklong summer intensive. Students will be exposed to a vast body of techniques including Linklater, Viewpoints, Michael Chekhov, Meisner and Uta Hagen. The intensive is designed with emphasis on theatre values such as intellectual curiosity, artistic integrity, and equity inclusion to encourage a broad range of theatrical approaches. The program will end with an actors’ showcase at The Smith Theatre for an invited audience of family and friends. Ages 13-17.

Friday May 12th 5pm-8pm and Saturday May 13th 3pm-6pm

Join the Shea’s comedy writer’s room as we take a deep dive into screenwriting, improvisation and sitcom structure to create pilot episodes before a live studio audience. Actors and writers will create a full studio audience experience complete with theme songs, and commercials all packed with punch lines on CUE! Showcase at Shea’s 710 Theatre for an invited audience of family and friends. Ages 9-12
