The STAGE is a 6-day long intensive program designed for students in eligible roles that wish to be considered for The Jimmy Awards. STAGE stands for “Student Talent And Growth Experience” which truly represents the nature of this program. Throughout the 6 days, students go through extensive coaching in the areas of singing, acting, dancing, branding, and storytelling. Auditions are required to participate in this program, only sixteen students are selected to participate.

This program is led by our WONDER-ful Creative Director, Michael Oliver-Walline, as well as a diverse team of professional coaches hired by the Arts Engagement and Education team.

Interested students should take into account that this program is designed for students that wish to take an intense deep dive into storytelling, acting through song, stage presence, branding opportunities, and more. This program is not for the casual musical theatre fan as it is structured more like a college conservatory program.

Auditions for the STAGE program are submitted virtually through the submission of a form and self-tape video. Auditions will open on Friday, March 27th, 2026 at 9:00am and will close on Monday, March 30th, 2026 at 11:59pm. Interested and eligible students are welcomed to complete the audition form along with submitting an audition video.

Audition Form Submission Requirements

• A bio of no more than 200 words, written in third-person format.
• Any known conflicts for the days of the program.
• Three (3) photos of you from your production with the photographer’s name.
• A headshot or clear photo of your face (this photo may be used on social media).
• A resume of your theatre experience.
• A link to your audition video.

Audition Video Submission Requirements

• A slate stating your name, school, your Jimmy-eligible role, and what material you will be performing.
• A 1-minute cut of a song from your Jimmy-eligible role.
• A 1-minute cut of a Jimmy approved song of your choice.
• A 1-minute monologue of your choice.
• A dance call or improvised dance.
