CAMP BROADWAY, a one-week summer theatre camp for youth is for children and teens, ages 10 to 17, who have an interest in musical theatre and requires no previous experience in singing, acting or dancing.
CAMP BROADWAY’s summer program includes instruction in voice, acting, dance, movement and solo and ensemble singing while learning and rehearsing dialogue, musical numbers and dance routines for a featured Broadway musical of the week. The program also includes the Gypsy Showcase, a theatrical competition that requires the campers to work together as a team to create an original theatrical piece that showcases both their inventiveness and individual talents. The week program culminates in the Family Finale, a final presentation for family and friends. These classes are taught by theatre professionals from the Broadway community who have appeared in such shows as, 42nd Street, City of Angels and Me and My Girl to name a few.
The five-day program runs from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The fee to participate in the camp is $550 per camper, and scholarship opportunities are provided through First Niagara. Space is limited to ensure that the classes are intimate and all children receive personal attention.
